>>>Hey, how do you think Lyle Alzado and Ken Caminiti felt about dieing painful deaths at 40 from all the steroids they shot into themselves? <<<

Okay. Ken Caminiti was a known cocaine user. Cocaine has been linked over and over again with cardiovascular arrythmias and MIs. And what happens? The media blames steroids. Why? I have no idea.

Especially given the fact that the New York Medical Examiner reported that “Caminiti died from “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of cocaine and opiates.”

But let’s blame steroids because that seems to be the trendy thing to do.

And Lyle Alzado died of brain cancer. Show me the first medical study linking steroids to brain cancer, and I’ll even begin to consider that argument.

Exceptions might include punters, kickers, and quarterbacks.

The worse offenders....Saurbraun of the Panthers was recently busted.....and have you seen Vjack or the Eagles kicker out of uniform. As far as QBs go Brady Quinn has more steroids than blood in his circulatory system......Mike Vick is on em too! Tom Brady has also been indirectly linked to Balco.

How many of the 756 homers were due to steroids? 700, 400, 250, 125, 60, or maybe 3. The way I see it is the man still hat to stand up there and face whatever pitch came his way and actually hit the ball. I don’t believe drugs helped him in any way to do that. Now did it make him hit the ball a little harder? Who knows. You don’t and neither do I. So many of you are all caught up in the negative hype.

Yeah, I’ve heard those same accusations leveled at Bonds for as long as he’s worn a Giant’s uniform. And, I’ve seen Bonds play catch with a child in the stands. I’ve seen Bonds in other actions where he’s demonstrated something quite different from what some have accused him of. Those accustions were born from sports media types who Bonds scorned for their behavior towards him. He’s just as human as anyone else. Why should he be expected to be more than anyone else? Why don’t people just admit that they make these comments or accusations simply because they hate the man?

Who here said you’re the first? You’re just one of many with the same tired old accusation without evidence that’s been dogging Bonds for most of his career. Just admit that you hate the man. Acknowledgment is therapeutic.

“Bonds was hated by fans and players alike long before any steroid controversy came his way. And the reason for that is that he’s beem a rude, narcissistic, spoiled, first-class asshole throughout his entire career. Every bit of hostility coming his way is richly deserved. If he had the class of a Hank Aaron his detractors would be few.”

Everything you say is true however Barry Bonds is a classic, textbook case of what is known in psychiatry as “Oppositional-Defiant Disorder.” It is a childhood psychiatric problem but can continue throughout a person’s life. These people thrive on having others hate them and if they aren’t hated, they create situations to make people hate them. Bonds is motivated to achieve by others’ dislike of him. Obviously it has worked. He has a family who idolize him, as does about 60% of the city of San Francisco, he WANTS the rest of the world to dispise him so that when he achieves, he can laugh in our faces. Normal people feel hurt by the rejection of others. Not Bonds.
That’s my 5 cent diagnosis.

put up or shut up. Either there is proof he used or there isn’t. Until it’s proven I’ll error on the side of caution. That’s my stand.

You're being disingenuous. You are willfully ignoring the BOUNTIFUL evidence that he's a major roid freak because you are a passionate Bonds apologist. What level of proof would you need? Can you "prove" to all of us that there was a moon landing? Can you "prove" to us that George Washington was the first President of the U.S.? Can you really "prove" to us that Nebraska exists? These may seem like silly questions, but by your standards even the most obvious truths are meaningless.

I completely agree with you. There are many who just love to hate this man for any reason they can come up with.

>>"Interisting, there was no member of the Giants on the field after the home run. Hmmmm."

If true, an amazing demonstration of "no confidence"..."no respect"..

Good Lord. That tells you everything about the man. Simply unreal.

I don’t have any evidence which could prove or disprove whether Bonds used or didn’t use.

No, but it sure is curious that Bonds' "weight trainer" chose to go to jail rather than testify before a federal grand jury. (I suspect he was repaid handsomely for his loyalty). It's also curious how Bonds' feet and hat size grew enormously after he reached his mid-30s. ....body parts that are supposed to stop growing in high school.

The circumstantial evidence for his using steroids is overwhelming. Combine that with his decidedly unlikable personality and the result is what we see.

Except the whole Giants team WAS on the field.

Are you kidding me? Are you suggesting that steroids is just a self-esteem enhancer that makes athletes think they're stronger? OF COURSE IT MADE HIM HIT THE BALL HARDER.

Except that this statement is not true. His teammates did join him on the field. Someone needs to clarify that there were no members of the Giant’s management on the field, and that his teammates were there.

There are many who just love to hate this man for any reason they can come up with.

And it's just by some crazy cosmic coincidence that everybody is coming up with the same reason: Steroids.

Thanks. I stand corrected.

I know that there is a lot of animosity on the team towards him.

Interesting take. “Oppositional-Defiant Disorder," eh? Well, Bonds appears to have it in spades.
