It fell shy of an endorsement, to be sure, but former House Speaker Newt Gingrich lauded Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, saying those who think the New York senator can’t run the White House are “just wrong.”

To tell you the truth, I really don’t want a woman President, I am a woman myself. I’m all for women having a career. But who says we have to have a woman be President? Maybe if we could find someone like Margaret Thatcher, that would be different, but that’s a big if. I feel no need to have a woman President. I don’t think it is an essential. As a matter of a fact, I think we would be better off it we didn’t have one. I don’t know who the hell Hillary thinks she is. She’s certainly not Patriotic, what the hell does she want to be President for anyways? She sure as hell doesn’t love the United States. So my only question is, what the hell does that witch want? She’s liberal to the point of being a traitor. She’s not wanted. I think the people who want her have lost their minds. They certainly seem to be lacking something, that’s for sure. And it ain’t good.

I'm one of those who likes to knock Newt. It's almost as easy as knocking Barry Bonds or Lindsay Lohan. But I watched his speech today. It was a good, thoughtful speech, and his comments about Hillary were not out of line.

He's not saying anything Rush Limbaugh isn't saying. He's saying take her seriously.

“Gingrich was always cowed by the Clintons. It was his undoing. Nothing new here.”

I never did like him from the get-go. He sounded way too mean from the start. I never did trust him, even when other conservatives were applauding him. Something about him didn’t sit well with me. He was obviously black-mailed or kicked in the groin somehow. I’m not impressed, especially if he is any indication of the character of others in the Senate. I hope we have better people then that, I really do.

The list is getting pretty short of people that Gingrich hasn’t ticked off in the last few months.

“He bucking for a job in her administration?”

No, he thought about it realized he would rather not be on the Clinton Hit list. Afterall, they do have connections. And they have been known to call hits. Can you blame him? He might be smarter then we think.

My take is Gingrich is trying to wake up the conservative vote by making them aware of just how formidable the Clinton org. actually is. Nobody likes her, nobodie’s going to vote for her, anybody here want to bet some matchsticks ???

yeah, you are probably right, now that I have had time to get over the initial shock over what I was reading, I realize that what you said makes sense. Gingrich always was smart. Actually, I think he is more likeable now. I am beginning to appreciate how he thinks. It was very difficult during the Clinton Presidency. They sure did make everything very confused.
