How many more people will die on defective bridges because of this misspent money? (sniff...)
Screw em, go for a run on the streets that TAXPAYERS have paid for many times over.
Friggin rat bastards, I'm sick of these people!
How can they spend that much on a gym when they get the dumbbells for free?
Hey Abercrombie, just go over to the Library of Congress and bench press a copy of the Internal Revenue Code. That increases every year by more than a pound so you should be able to keep in shape with it.
They need to buy from the home shopping network. They could save maybe $7,999,000.00
Abercrombie and Stretch
Yeah, I imagine the house ‘gym’ is a good place to go to get some peace and quiet, or maybe for their surreptitious trysts with the underage house page boys.

These people are nuts
That $8 million amounts to $15K per Distinguished Member of Congress. How many of us ordinary Americans can afford $15K in fitness equipment—even if we’re as enthused about exercise as the Distinguished Representative Neil Abercrombie? But let’s face facts: an overwhelming majority this Distinguished group are too elderly, senile, or obese to make any meaningful use of any such equipment. The main distinction of these Distinguished folks is that they’re less popular than gangbangers or terrorists, and this move doesn’t reverse that situation.
Pelosi and other Democratic leaders are not eager for a multimillion-dollar renovation of the congressional members-only gym to be one of the first accomplishments of the Democratic majority. They worry that freshman Democrats could be attacked on the campaign trail next year for approving a fancy new gym for themselves after winning office.

PUT IT ON A RE-HAB FOR THE DAVs,,,POS...
Does Pelosi need a gym to do her face lifts?
Perfectly stated. LOL, here.
The really sad part of the joke line is the cost the bastards cost us with their special projects having nothing to do with the overriding purpose of the piece of legislation they are shoving thought the sausage mill.
All this controversy.... The money is for the gymnasium’s new Ted Kennedy wing to honor him for all the hours he’s spent there working out. It also includes the cost of the soon to be dedicated Chappaquiddick wading pool.
ROFLMAO!!!
There are legitimate reasons for having a gym onsite, including security and time concerns. It may even be cheaper since you know they’d be taking government vehicles to drive over to a private club.
But it should be run as a business and Congresscritters should have to pay for it. With the government providing a rent-free space, surely the Congresscritters can afford to pay $30/month to use the gym ?
Thanks for the ROF kudo...I smiled at it too when when my brain came out with it without prompting - other than the "Pelosi Wants Gym" headline.
I'm normally pretty dull - occasionally politics lifts me out of my doldrums.
