I suspect that some men “defer” to the woman’s decision because they know that they have no intention of marrying her or supporting the infant. It is assumed that the woman will abort when marriage/financial support are not on the table.
Men have absolutely no say in the matter, regardless of how willing they may be to support mother and child.
Hold her hand while she “recovers” from killing their child? How sickly sweet.
