I do know that Thompson may have made a mistake when he said that the Virginia Tech massacre could have been avoided if the students were armed. Yes, it would have been avoided but his mistake was political. The statement made him sound like a gun nut because universities have historically had problems with shootings and massacres. What he should have said is that he supports armed security guards with concealed weapons or something to that effect. He may have alienated too many in the middle with that statement.

Right, we need a spineless weasel who toes the line of political correctness.

Like Mitt.

“... universities have historically had problems with shootings and massacres.”

Because a university is a target-rich (i.e., largely unarmed) environment.

“The statement made him sound like a gun nut “

So now anyone who supports the second amendment (you know the one that says the right to keep AND BEAR arms shall not be infringed) is a gun nut? In case you don’t realize, bear arms in 18th century vernacular meant to carry a firearm.

I expect to get this garbage from the left. Now I’m hearing about gun nuts from the right???
