Smoke’s thoughts on Happy and Pablo yesterday.

That's about right. It was good to see Harvick get angry (even if some of his anger should have been directed at Truex, although Montoya and Truex were both stupid for thinking they could pull a Dale Earnhardt Sr. and dive-bomb the corners like that), and it was good to see somebody else get angry. Harvick's went too many races without going on a rampage (I'm not a Harvick fan, but I like seeing drivers who aren't afraid to speak out, even if they are misguided).

Harvick and JPM were probably the two most colorful personalities at the race. That's a pretty sad statement about NASCAR these days, it seems like we are given these cookie-cutter drivers that seem to have their images managed by a full-time staff of PR people.

I thought it was funny that Richard Childress was spouting off about Montoya and you find out the reason why is that Felix Sabates called Childress out on ESPN, on his crew trying to cheat and working on Harvick's car under the red. You don't see many owners with personalities these days - a lot tend to remain distant and/or aloof from things.

It'd be nice if there was a rivalry come up out of this, because there just aren't that many rivalries anymore - the PR people seem to tell the drivers to only say nice things about one another.

We need more road races - they tend to bring out the best in the drivers - it was a helluva race yesterday, and it's pretty clear who the real drivers are and who the "left turn only" types are. The people who were at the front at the end of the day were the types that can drive just about anything on any kind of track.

I agree, it wasn’t like Stepford drivers this week, a little incident here or there can’t hurt as the races have been fairly boring. I was about to turn it off when Jr blew up, but started dinner and then I saw this happening and it grabbed my attention. Otherwise there would have been a huge sucking sound as the Earnhardt Nation tuned out.

Happy was quick to get angry with Pablo because of his prior racing incidents. It appears from what Jeff Burton said on NN that Montoya was starting in first gear making his car slower than the others, he tried to block Truex who was trying to gain the inside position and the rest we saw.

I like Harvick, for some reason he can speak his mind but not come off looking like a jerk. I hate hotheads and jerks but he has a way about him. It could be the Nascar 360 shows he and DeLana did. Somehow if you see the off track side of a guy he appears as a complete person not just the racer. He’s a real practical joker and has made a great business for himself with KHI racing with DeLana doing a lot of the work.

As for Pablo he comes off as a jerk just by some of the comments on his radio, arguing with his CC about pitting and stuff, plus his antics on the track.

No penalties will be assessed for Harvicks A$$ comment, only the S$$$$ word is a penalty.

RC is a real hands on guy and I like him for that as well. I also love him always being there for his drivers/crew etc. unlike someone else I know.

I also agree on the road races, Watkins Glen is much better than Sonoma and I wouldn’t mind Montreal in the mix as that was one beautiful venue for racing.

Speaking of the Earnhardt Nation, a lot of red is beginning to show up at Graceland.

Well there is colorful and there is JPM. He has no self-control. He just bullies ahead and the hell with everybody else. Over time he will find it harder and harder. You need give and take in Nascar. People that live near Miami know what I am talking about.

On road races. I agree. Sebring early in the season when we have bad weather up north in Tennessee and NC and a perfect dry season would be great.
