I thought they raced greyhounds.
On road races. I agree. Sebring early in the season when we have bad weather up north in Tennessee and NC and a perfect dry season would be great.
Labs would just head for the water. :P
Just hear Kenny Wallace lost his ride to Scott Wimmer per Sirius radio. Darn it! Wimmer was being groomed for the fourth RCR car, so maybe Yeley is going there.
I heard today that Shrub picked DEI as his second choice after Gibbs. He said he wasn’t mature enough to take over the responsibility of the 8 car. LOL
Sorry about that. Had one of those days and it just hit my funny bone. :)
RR on and off this evening.
Got some great shots off the Graceland site from last night. Just posting them over at IP.
Looks like you may get a TS down there. Probably Thursday??
Larry McReynolds: I’m hearing now that several key members from the No. 8 team and DEI are being actively pursued to go with Dale Jr. to Hendrick Motorsports. If Dale Jr. feels that Hmiel is one of those key people, Rick Hendrick feels that way and obviously Steve feels that way and isn’t under contract or in an agreement that he can’t get out of, I’m sure that’s very important to Junior. The crew chief and spotter are very critical to Junior’s success. That’s not to say that someone else can’t fill those positions. They’re the two people that are in his ear non-stop during practice and races. He’s used to Hmiel and crew chief Tony Eury Jr. and has a comfort level with them so it would totally make sense if they can make it happen.
I have noted that Jr continues to tell Tony EUry Jr to jot things down in his notebook for next year. So.......I’m sure it’s not for someone else. :)
We’re getting a few waves off the one by the Yucatan already. think it has it’s sights set dead on us, like we needed more rain. LOL
Well at least we’re still on the Centurion boats thread.
Not so long ago everything was flooded, now a few counties have and others are also considering burn bans. It’s been hotter than heck here.
I’m going to try the B1 vitamin for the mosquitos it’s a lot better than running around with bounce fabric sheets in my pants. :) I did buy Malathion and it’s working for my immediate front door area anyway.
Tony Stewart To Retire In 2009?
08-13-2007 | Charlotte, NC
Are we seeing the last of Tony Stewart?
According to a source inside Joe Gibbs Racing, Stewart is on borrowed time and will retire from NASCAR Nextel Cup racing in 2009.
This isnt the first time its been reported that Stewart, who won the Cup race at Watkins Glen Sunday, is going to call it a career in NASCARs highest division. In fact, the volatile driver has on more than one occasion threatened to do so, but this latest scenario is the first one that seems to make sense.
The scenario even has a name Joey Logano.
According to the Gibbs source, Logano is being groomed to take over for Stewart in the No. 20 Gibbs car full-time in 2009. Logano is currently driving a JGR entry in the NASCAR Busch East division and Gibbs will have a Cup test development team dedicated specifically to him next season. Its expected that Logano will make his Cup debut next season and compete in a select number of events before running for Rookie of the Year in the 20 car in 2009.
That puts Stewart right where he professes that he wants to be free to run whatever dirt track race and an Indy 500 or two whenever he wants to.

I always considered Bounce sheets as a way a woman "tags" her man to let other females know he's married 'cause guys don't use them on their own. ;)
Ack! More yeller bumpers!
I’m not so sure on the reliability of that since I think Logano is under 18 or even 17 right now.
I do think Gibbs going to Toyoyo will tick Smoke off. All of his dirt track equipment is Chevy. They did mention last night on NN that all board members have to agree to that kind of change and Smoke is on the board. So the jury is still out.
I was out canoeing the last week.
