Gosh! Don’t they know most Republicans have church on Sunday mornings! I missed the darn thing.

Drinking Coffee I noticed that Ron Paul managed to get half the audience to applaud every one of his lines, yet, less than 1% of Republicans say they would vote for him.  Being a curious type I called my daughter in law (an actuary in a mega firm) and asked her opinion of this seemingly quirky happening. She thought it possible if he were only asked questions important to the GOP base and he managed to give the appropriate answer.

When I explained that wasn't the case and that one needed a drool bucket to catch all the times the words "neo con" dripped from his lips, that  "President Bush waged an illegal war in Iraq", and that all the world's problems were the cause of American foreign policy; she asked me if I had lost my powers of deductive and critical thinking.

I think George Snuffalufagus, his people or both spiked the audience a wee bit.

Other than that, I thought it went rather well.  Particularly Gov. Romney's line of Obama going from Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove in the course of one week.

Ron Paul needs to institutionalized. And so do his supporters.

Stephanopoulos and the DEMs are thrilled to display him as an example of a Republican lune... and to disrupt any logical discussion of issues.

I have my favorite, as does everyone on this thread, but I couldn’t help being impressed with all of them. Compared to what the Dems are offering, everyone of them looked so much more presidential. I didn’t agree with all of them on policy, but they were all heads and shoulders above the other side. They were dignified even with Georgie as moderator. Any one of them would bring “gravitas” to the office.

Hi I just watched most of the debate on Youtube.. I especially enjoyed the last question about what the central theme of each candidate’s white house would be. Hearing the central theme of each candidate showed what their plans were. I must admit I was very impressed, each candidate would take a somewhat different direction, but most directions I thought were good.

Tancredo gave an incredible answer.. and Huckabee also really shined here, and Duncan Hunter also was strong.

During the debate Mitt and Guiliani were very strong. They looked in control, confident, ready to become President. Guiliani made the argument that he could lead, and his main argument about making things work. Romney didn’t highlight that part of his argument but was focused on his stands on the issues which sounded well thought out and workable.

Huckabee also for the first time to me looked and sounded ‘presidential’. I noticed in the polls Huckabee scored in 2nd or 3rd place in each one.

We are fortunate to have such an incredible field of candidates. Its almost too bad we have so many great ones at once, but on the bright side in the worst case we will have a strong field in 2012.. and in the best case should be set up for 2016 as well.
