McCain Panics, Stands on His Head, Reverses Stance on Immigration

John McCain has suddenly changed his position on immigration! He also changed his name to "Tom Duncan Tancredo Hunter," danced the cha cha, dyed his hair purple, joined Cirque de Soleil, threatened to invade a sovereign nation (oh wait, that's Obama), endorsed setting up Murder Squads to assassinate, er, "capture or kill", people in other countries (oh wait, that's Obama, too), dressed like Marlene Dietrich, declared his love for Nancy Reagan, and then adopted all the children Angelina Jolie hasn't had time to get to.

All just a bit too little, too late. Won't he be surprised to find out we still won't vote for him and still think bad thoughts when we hear his name? Nice try though. For a pandering, patronizing self-obsessed loser who doesn't think much at all for the people of the United States. After all, if we secure the border, who will pick all that lettuce and dig the wells??

McCain changes course on immigration

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential hopeful John McCain on Thursday backed a scaled-down proposal that imposes strict rules to end illegal immigration but doesn't include a path to citizenship.

The move away from a comprehensive measure is an about-face for the Arizona senator, who had been a leading GOP champion of a bill that included a guest worker program and would have legalized many of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. It failed earlier this year.

"We can still show the American people that we are serious about securing our nation's border," McCain said in a statement, adding that the new bill would "provide an essential step toward achieving comprehensive reform in the future."

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!

One last thought, with all that Manly Man talk from Barry Obama, I think it's pretty clear he's made the mistake of responding to a few of those "Add four more inches to your leadership skills" emails we all get. The problem, of course, is that you really don't get four more inches, you just get to look stupid.

McCain hasn’t changed his view on anything. I received a letter from him dated July 17th, in response to a very pointed email I sent during the immigration fiasco. His letter is the same-old, same-old. Any MSM treatment of him as changing his view on immigration is flatly wrong.

I agree.

I hope this will not lull voters into complacency while our "leaders" in Washington try to sneak secretly bills providing amnesty and who knows what all perks to illegal aliens. Some of them sound like they have a fetish for illegals.

If he supoports an enforcement only bill, that is 180 degrees from the arguments he made since I’ve been paying attention.

Too bad the people of AZ keep him in office.

And as long as he can keep delivering the pork to Arizona the voters there will (probably) continue re-electing him. That's politics for you.

If he supoports an enforcement only bill, that is 180 degrees from the arguments he made since I’ve been paying attention.

His letter dated July 17th says nothing about enforcement only. The final paragraph reads: "I have been working with many of my colleagues, as well as President Bush, to pass legislation to fix our broken immigration system. On May 21, 2007, the Senate began consideration of comprehensive immigration reform. After weeks of debate, a procedural vote to advance the legislation failed by a vote of 46-53. Although the Senate was unable to conclude its debate on the immigration bill, I will continue working to enact comprehensive immigration reform legislation because I consider it to be critical to our national security efforts." Highlight mine.

That doesn't sound like enforcement only to me.

Well, the Wash. Post and others are reporting he is on board with the enforcement only bill that is moving in DC now. Of course, the devil is the details.

To his credit, he has at least disavowed portions of it in the last few months. Then again, he supported it when it was in front of the SCOTUS in 2003.
