On C-Span 2 as I post is Rep. Peter Welch (D) Vermont. He is vowing to “end the war in Iraq”. If the Dems would try to “win the war in Iraq” they would find that victory will bring our troops home, just as well as surrender. But, the fallout of surrender will lead to more wars in the future. It has ever been thus. Weakness feeds the evil that pervades so much of the globe today.
The Strategic Air Command used to have a great motto which, if I remember correctly, was “Peace through strength.” It is a concept that rings true, if only these pacifists would read their history.
