In a remarkable turnabout reminiscent of the famous John Kerry flip flop, "I was for the war before I was against the war," Did Kerry actually say that? I remember he said that about the spending bill but not the war? I understand the flip-flop point but is Kerry being misquoted here?

Did Kerry actually say that? I remember he said that about the spending bill but not the war?IIR the exact quote correctly it was "I actually DID vote in favor of the 87 billion, before I voted against it."
Of course he also voted for the war only to turn against it in the Democrat primaries leading up to 2004.

good question. i searched around and found that quote was attributed to kerry on several sites but i have not found a direct source siting the moment he said it. it could be that people are paraphrasing his comments. in any case “I was for the war before I was against the war” has become kerry’s legacy.

Did Kerry actually say that? The correct person you should ask about this is the person who quoted Kerry, in this case it would be Janet Levy and/or American Thinker.
