It’s the equivalent of asking Catholics to kowtow by destroying the Vatican or expecting the Japanese to cooperate with post WWII rebuilding by threatening to execute the Emperor.
Do you have any examples (other than protecting pedophile clergy) where the Catholic church did not immediately kowtow when confronted by a difficult situation?
