If the 1,500 rejected university students had received full-ride scholarships, for example, that would have equated to more than $20 million, said Martin, speaking hypothetically.

Arizona is in the forefront on clamping down on the freebies for illegals.

Guess what? My daughter missed a scholarship at a leading university in Pensylvania by .004 of a GPA point.

And guess what else? She picked a more affordable college out of state.

It never ceases to amaze me that the illegal alien advocation on one hand argue that encouraging people to obey the damned law is akin to a death sentance or, at least, a lifetime of poverty in Mexico. Yet, on the other hand, turning this country into a Mexican Colony is nothing to worry about.

Headline could also read “Illegal Immigrant Bill Frees Up $20 million for financial aid to Americans and Legal Immigrants.” But that’s only if you care more about this country and its citizens than the illegal horde.

wow that’s great- now they won’t be getting a free education. Now let’s build a 4’ thick wall of kryptonite and shoot them back over to mexico using circus cannons.

Who’s with me? (I’m wearing my clown shoes for when I light the cannon)

Now going to college is ‘one of those jobs Americans won’t do’. Ha. Good for Arizona.

Why not millions?

(For those in Rio Linda, that would be illegals.)
All legal immigrants and citizens should avail themselves of all the safety nets that I pay for...)

Just saying.

“Our parents have worked this country. And it’s incredible to me that people approved this. I just don’t understand.”

That rejected student said a mouthful there. What is there not to understand? You are illegal and the American people should not be forced to pay for your education or anything else. You need to go back to your own country and get an education there.

She right when she says her parents worked this country.

I knew I liked Arizona.
Build the fence.
As Duncan Hunter says,
“If we build it, they won’t come”

As Duncan Hunter says,
“If we build it, they won’t come”

And if they continue coming legally (within reason and with qualifications), the level of American hostility and concern would shrink to insignificance.

I wonder how the thinking starts that says that it’s unfair for them to pay for their own college but that it’s fair for someone else to pay for their college.

I paid CASH for every darn semester/quarter of my Master’s Degree. I paid CASH for every semester/quarter of my daughters Bachelor’s Degree. No scholarships, no reduced tuition, etc. CASH for all books and materials.
I worked nights as a bartender to pay for my degree. I didn’t ask strangers for handouts either.
Now I have to pay for every illegal alien in this country to get an elementary/junior high/high school graduation and pay for their college too.
Scuse me if this just doesn’t sound right.
Kudos to Arizona. This should be the law of the land.

A mindset like telling our young teenage daughters that abstinence is best, however, and if they choose not to abstain, well they'll run the risk of getting a little bit pregnant.

So, why is it we need a North American Union?

Even with perfect soil, weather, etc., you can only get so much corn out of an acre.

Arizona has been passing English only and all kinds of laws for the past 20-years. The courts keep on overturning the will of the people.

Here's a question for the legal eagles here. What if Arizona decided to enforce its own laws anywise, regardless of what the courts say? What would, or even could, happen? Have highway funding cut off by the feds?

I hope the Mexican government isn't reading this, because you probably just gave them the perfect idea for how to get rid of their poor and their criminals even faster. Any day now, it will be raining clown-suited illegals in San Diego and their first act upon landing in a heap of broken bones will be to look up and say, "Where's my free health care, you racist gringo?"
