How so? He really would have been better off if he were accused by a women of rape. Hell, he would probably still be playing, depending on what kind of woman made the accusation. I'm not saying that's a good thing, that's just how it is.

It's quite possible that it could be true. However, saying it on TV was sheer stupidity.
