“Lucas told MyFOXMemphis.com that she fears what her fiance will do to the pet once he gets out of the hospital.”

Okay, I know that this may not be a top priority, but given that statement I think that the dog should be removed from the home. The fiance obviously knows the kind of person this man is, and I don’t think it’s worth the risk.

It seems a little odd that the girlfriend said something about the dog being 'protective' ... makes me think that maybe he was hittin' on her when the dog coincidentally knocked the gun off of the table. Maybe she and the dog should get lost before the guy gets out of the hospital.

THIS IS FOR EVERYONE HERE:
You shouldn’t believe everything you hear in the news. They took bits and pieces from an interview and made it world news. They are lucky they weren’t sued for misrepresentation. Also “the fiancee” is the great man in the world, and he would never hurt that dog. What they fail to mention is the person breaking into the house. That’s why the gun was out, they were being chased away. The dog got happy and anyone who knows about Great Danes, know they have very powerful tails. That dog was treated like royalty. He had his own room and everything. The comment about “the dog being smart” was taken from a conversation that made more sense for the situation. In other words they didn’t show what was said before or after that statement. It would have cleared a lot of things up. The guy wasn’t being an idiot, he was protecting his family. You people are ridiculous. Sorry it took so long to post something, but try learning how to walk all over again and see how long it takes you.
