I hate to do this, but public school was created to teach immigrants English. The morals of education were non-existent. I say this because Parents were in Charge of the Morality of a child. As far as the history goes, or philosophy, I doubt the normal school-age child of 1905 had it. It came from their parents and their free life.

Your poor guess demonstrates ignorance, but lots of self-confidence. I'm going to presume you are a product of the public school system.

When you come off your high horse (either voluntarily, or as a byproduct of having fallen on your face), try to do some research, and look at the TESTS administered in the 8th grade a century or so ago.

Then, come back, and try to convince me that they were testing the students on subject matter they did not teach.

I’m not on a high horse, maybe you are. Education was meant to make the populace literate (and not in Japanese, by the way) so they could satisfy the needs of the Industrial Revolution. You bore me.
