I think most people realize that the Xena character is not intended as a role model for modern warfare. It’s a fantasy character, like Batman or - perhaps more to the point - the Robin Hood of legend.

I think that is it is about gender stereo types. I read history and like blam I am an archeology buff. What I am speaking about is the transference of modern myth to the past. Imagine facing a Human Warrior, as skilled and as strong as you, and then gutting him and then facing another. Strength and training is the winning factor.

Then we have Xena after her third pregnancy, with a couple of rug rats biting at her toes, History is not one on one battles it is organized units against organized units.
