DALLAS An attempted home invasion ended with what police called an all-out gun battle early Wednesday in a North Dallas residential neighborhood.
The homeowner had a gun and opened fire on the suspects. He pursued them as they fled, hitting at least two of them, police said.
One was found dead in an SUV several blocks away from the crime scene. Another was taken to Baylor University Medical Center in very critical condition.

Was this Chuck Norris...the guy with the gun? Wow. He must have been angry, and trained with his weapon.
Happy endings are the best.

" He pursued them as they fled, hitting at least two of them.." Looks like they walked right into a right-wing ambush. Excellent news.

Pursued them as they fled?
That is usually considered a no-no, though I won’t second guess the homeowner who was under attack by an armed gang.

A reporter first thing this morning made the comment “the elderly victim...” but I’m not sure of the victim’s age. They said the home invaders/burglars/thieves were departing in a SUV when he shot at them, killing one and wounding another—one took off and was caught by police, claiming he was an innocent bystander. The 4th is still missing.

Unfortunately if he “pursued them as they fled” he will probably be charged if he fired while they ran away from him. I don’t agree, but if they were running off his property he should have held fire.

They may charge the home-owner for pursuing the suspects?! What happened to citizen’s arrest? But, I am so proud of the home-owner! Great job for making sure one, maybe two, will never invade a home again, and making sure the others will shake in fear at the thought of doing so again. I just hope none of them were illegal aliens because Bush’s Justice Department might pardon those that are still alive so that they can testify against the home-owner in Federal Court (like those two Border Agents rotting in Federal Prison right now).

While investigators said the homeowner was within his legal rights to fire on intruders, he may be subject to charges because he left his property to pursue the robbery suspects in his vehicle.I think he was just trying to give them first aid.

Wow, punks had an AK-47, too. Just goes to show you that firepower is fairly meaningless if you don’t know how to shoot.
Plus, the homeowner wasn’t hurt, and a third guy who was possibly involved has shown up at a nearby hospital. Good shooting!
If they charge him because he left the property, it proves we’ve still got a long way to go fighting libs and their stupid gun laws, even in a gun-enlightened state like Texas.
This homeowner should get a damned medal. Not be charged with a crime.

Doesn’t look like a bad area, but not too far from the front lines.

Anywhere, according to the training I have taken, but laws do vary between states. I really do hope the homeowner is not in any kind of trouble.

In Texas?Remember, the Dallas County DA is a liberal Democrat. The Sheriff is a lesbian Democrat. Many of the judges are Democrats, and the jury is sure to be a Democrat majority, some of whom may speak English.
