“Magic is not, any more than light sabers, transformers, Spiderman, etc. I think most people realize that.”

Occultism, and occultic power is VERY real. Harry Potter, for the most part, is not the real thing - but it exposes children to the occultic world and can create in them a desire for the real thing.

Oh, pooh!

Would you say the same thing about Narnia or Lord of the Rings...both very religious in themes.

People say this about all kinds of things. Video games cause kids to become violent, heavy metal causes kids to commit suicide or get involved in the occult or sex, rap music causes drug abuse or mistreatment of women, etc. These things are a much more immediate danger to kids than the occult. Personal responsibility is always necessary. You say "can" create a desire for the real thing, but I doubt whether it's as widespread a problem as the other things I mentioned. What, do we get rid of all movies, video games, rock music, etc?

You know, I faced this kind of an argument from my mother way back in the day over D&D, I pulled an article for her about a guy who started believing he was a chess piece.

People do dumb stuff, if you are going to do something dumb, no one can stop you by forbidding you to read a book, or play a game.

Show me one instance where HP lead to the occult, surely you can find one, right?

Don't bother us with trying to prove a negative until you have some evidence of a positive, OK FRiend?
