RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) _ An illegal immigrant who was deported in 1997, sneaked back into the country and then killed two people in a drunken-driving crash was sentenced Tuesday to up to 15 years in prison.

Nilssen Torres Paredes had pleaded guilty in May to manslaughter. He was drunk and speeding the wrong way in a 30 mph zone when he struck a car, injuring the driver and killing the two passengers, Audra Kaczur and David Calogero, prosecutors said.

He was sentenced to five to 15 years behind bars.

He also received concurrent sentences on charges that he lied about his identity when he was pulled over by police months before the December accident. He admitted lying to hide the fact that he'd been deported to Ecuador in 1997 after being convicted on weapons charges but had sneaked back into the U.S.

Every one of us should scour our local newspapers and forward these stories onto the idiots in Washington. Flood them with e-mails. It’s not just border cities, it’s everywhere.

Just another terrorist killing on our soil allowed by our government. This one we’ll feed and lodge awhile.

This is SO commonplace and just swept under the rug until they actually kill an American citizen.

I would add to your sentiment that copies of the death certificates of American citizens that have been killed by an illegal alien be sent to the dolts in DC.

They don’t have a long enough attention span to actually read a newspaper article.

Imagine if these people were killed by some raving muslim guy from Syria wielding a sword. But, no, it was just a humble, indigenous family man trying to feed his family and who happened to have one too many drinks and just happened to get behind the wheel.

Commonplace is right. Even in IL the biggest road danger after sundown is drunken illegals. And not just the Chi Metro area, the whole state is infested with these lowlife drunks.

The 'funny' thing is that MADD is completely silent on the issue. Yet let an American get a DUI for blowing .085 (and NO accident) and they want a life sentence at hard labor.

Well good. He wants to live in this country so bad, here he is. I hope he serves every minute of the 15 years and then gets deported when he gets out of jail.

We should make it a rule — if it isn’t already — that illegal aliens can’t live here is they’re convicted felons. Or if they kill someone. Or if they rape someone. Or if they steal something.

Instead of sending them back to Mexico, let’s make an arrangement with China to deport them to China. They seem to take care of wrongdoers rather permanently.

Boy, it’s going to be a long day. And I was going to make some more peach preserves. Now see what you’ve done — gone and gotten me all riled up.

But....but...but............I’m so confused, aren’t all these people simply humble folk from south of the Rio Grande with “family values”? (sarcasm off)

You are so right. Activate. How about responding to the call to illegals to boycott and boycott ourselves- those big business who back illegal immigration and SPP? Gillette, Ford, GM, FedEx, WalMart, etc.

Should we say it again? Secure the border; build the fence; it’s the law. Is anyone listening?

This one we’ll feed and lodge awhile.

All the costs of prosecution, defense (assuming a court provided attorney) and incarceration should be deducted from whatever foreign aid we are giving to the country in question. In fact, so should the costs of medical care, schooling their young and all other services!

Would like to see a list of more companies like this. It really is time to start the boycott, and publicize it.

I totally agree. Why our cities, counties, school districts, states and especially D.C. haven’t come up with this idea is beyond me. It would hault immigration down to less than 10% of what it is now overnight! They’d be policing their borders, ha!

Actually I do know why as I did work in the public sector for awhile. The way you grow in your job is creation of positions to support yours. Our governments and taxing districts are too flooded with money due to our great economy and we continue not to buck them...excuse the pun!

How TRUE! Many of MADD must use them for maid services and landscaping so it hits too close to home.

Another true story I know that happened in our neighborhood, a “good” illegal who helps many with their landscaping resorted to bribery for a legal reason as he is smart enough to know that if he reports them, they’ll be in trouble!!

I’d rather do anything myself and slower than hire one of these ilk.
