I picked up on that as well, and thought how successful these pro-illegals are in getting us on the defensive by making us think that we must precede our comments with a “some of my best friends are . . .” disclaimer. It’s about time we stopped that. I wrote the author in that same vein.

I like Victor Davis Hansen’s reply to the “Racist!” cry - “That slur is SO pre-911.” I can’t wait to use it.

I agree wholeheatedly. This is a very good point. It is also the insidious nature of PC. Without even realizing it we have succumbed to the effects of it. We have all been indoctrinated to be “careful”. It doesn’t matter weather it is true or not only the appearance of it. In addition what happens is the accused is held to a different standard then the accuser. Hypocricy abounds. IMO it has made us into cowards who would rather avoid be labeled a “hater” then stand up for our country and way of life. They know this and manipulation is easy when concern for labels overides everything else and free speech is often checked for political correctness. Every time we react with the examples given we are playing into the hands of the OBL or race-baiters in general.
