Authorities today charged two female teenagers with kidnapping and assault, saying said they elaborately plotted to kill a Missouri woman and cut her unborn son from her womb.
The plot fell apart, however, when police were called to a Blue Springs motel to check on the welfare of a pregnant woman.
Lauren M. Gash, 19, of Odessa, and Alisa D. Betts, 17, of Atchison, Kan., appeared in court this afternoon and were arraigned on felony kidnapping charges. Gash, 19, also faces one count of assault.
According to court documents, the suspects lured the victim into a car Monday in Clinton, Mo., sprayed Mace on her after she resisted, then bound her with tape. They drove to a Blue Springs motel.
Police were called to the motel about 5:35 p.m. Monday evening on a medical call involving a pregnant woman. Officers found Gash and the victim, who had duct tape around her neck.
The two women in the room gave conflicting stories, and the victim told police that she had been held against her will.
While investigating the case, police learned that Gash had been telling family members that she was pregnant. She called Sunday night and told family she had delivered the baby by C-section at a hospital in Independence.
Police say that, during interviews with the suspects, one of them claimed that two men had asked them to kidnap the victim and tie her up. The men then purportedly planned to cut the unborn baby from the womb and leave the mother to die.
Police, though, said they had found no evidence to connect anybody else to the case.
My.......God......
An excellent case for the death penalty.
These two must get life without parole.
Here’s what I don’t understand. If there’s money to be made in selling babies, why would two GIRLS kidnap a pregnant woman with the intent to do bodily harm to get one child to sell, when they could easily find a couple of guys, have sex, and sell their OWN babies?
Further proving my theory that most girls have no souls.
