Yes, fresh meat is red, due to blood.
Most people do not eat fresh meat...they buy their meat at Safeway, Krogers, Sams etc. This meat is putrified. It would be green except for the added chemicals.
It also is loaded with estrogen (to add fat flavor) and anti-biotics.

I ge my beef from a friend who is a frmer in vermont. He's an rganic farmer, not that i give a damn. the meat is red when we slaughter and butcher it, and it's red when i cook it. at no poin is it green, nor injected with any chemicals.
Same goes for the moose my BIL brings in from Maine.
