Guess that’s why all the dimwits and their spouses have different last names...

Capitol Hill Bizarro World, where the norms of commonsense ethical behavior not only don't apply, but where ethics are turned upside down almost in deliberate mockery of the voting public.

"I can't hire my wife as a $150K consultant to my own campaign, using funds from my constituents? Why not? What's wrong with it? Everyone else hires their wife?"

Yes Mr. 2nd Term House Representative, everyone except Paul Wolfowitz who you excoriated for recommending his girlfriend (not wife) to a marginally higher-paying public service position (for which she was - unlike your wife Milly - actually qualified to hold).

"Wahhhh..... what do you mean I can't have my extended family working for my campaign offices? Why..... Harry Reid has three sons working as Washington lobbyists, and Tommy Daschle's wife was a lobbyist here on the Hill, so what's wrong with me getting some financial support for my kin. Wahhhhhh, wahhhhhh, it's so unfair."

Rhonda Rohrabacher has 3-year-old triplets and a work-at-home job as campaign manager to her husband, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.). She made $57,000 in the 2006 election cycle, according to a recent report by the liberal watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

That is simply converting campaign funds for personal use. In the old days it was done without the formalities and without the transparency. But as long as these clowns want to keep referring to their holding of elected offices as "public service", then it should not be allowed.

What about sons and daughters?

What about parents?

In-laws?

Nepotism is more than just about a spouse.

Notice they are just talking about SPOUSES....they should also include CHILDREN if they want to go that far, but it is really stupid either way......IF they are actually doing work, who cares.
