Compared to MA, the Bush’s are beginners.

Now, I have to be careful posting here. Bill O’Reilly agreed with Lanny Davis that Free Republic is a “hate site” on par with the Daily Kos.

Guilt by association... :-P

(I hope you all know my sense of humor by now....)

Guess that’s why all the dimwits and their spouses have different last names...

Capitol Hill Bizarro World, where the norms of commonsense ethical behavior not only don't apply, but where ethics are turned upside down almost in deliberate mockery of the voting public.

"I can't hire my wife as a $150K consultant to my own campaign, using funds from my constituents? Why not? What's wrong with it? Everyone else hires their wife?"

Yes Mr. 2nd Term House Representative, everyone except Paul Wolfowitz who you excoriated for recommending his girlfriend (not wife) to a marginally higher-paying public service position (for which she was - unlike your wife Milly - actually qualified to hold).

"Wahhhh..... what do you mean I can't have my extended family working for my campaign offices? Why..... Harry Reid has three sons working as Washington lobbyists, and Tommy Daschle's wife was a lobbyist here on the Hill, so what's wrong with me getting some financial support for my kin. Wahhhhhh, wahhhhhh, it's so unfair."

I was watching, and BOR did no such thing.

Why do you feel the need to run around spreading falsehoods, especially one that reflects so badly on FR posters?

i’m tired of family members in politics.

Not I, so long as the family are actually doing the work presented in their job description. Political leaders need people they can trust, and oft times a family member is the person they trust most.

Besides, how has Bush violated this "rule" about family?

He did so last night on his show when Davis compared the hate speech on the Kos to Free Republic. O’Reilly agreed there are haters there as well.

I’d never lie to you guys and I was kind of taken aback that he’d agree we were in the same league as Kos. I get racist comments all the time on my YouTube site from tolerant, compassionate liberals, both foreign and domestic, all the time. I know the difference.

...and what's up with that 'First Lady' thing? We'll have to stop that kind of thing as soon as possible. Can't have any Presidential pillow talk. This 'family business' thing needs to stopped as well. I'm gonna fire my wife first thing this morning. /s/

Lots of small businesses are mom and pop operations. Why should politics be different?

There are probably haters, bigots, whatever who visit here. I think the difference is that Kos and DU seem to have spreading hatred as their core mission, whereas FR might have a few weirdos.

What you claim is false. You’d better be very careful before you get on your high horse. btw, I saw the show and reviewed the other post first.

On FR, I see humor, frustration, and criticism.

I have yet to see projected racism, pornography, threats to livelyhood and even death. Big difference to Kos.

small businesses are financed PRIVATELY.

political families are financed PUBLICALLY with tax payers’ money.

the founders of this country rejected aristocracy and privilege.

hollywood commands today’s masses. presidents must be sexy in appearance, like bill clinton.

did you notice jackson’s breasts at the superbowl? and hillary’s cleavage?

By saying that no Republican candidate would come near FR, he was saying that we are as bad as the Daily Kos, where he said no Democrat should attend YearlyKos, because it’s a hate site.

He didn’t defend FR when Davis called it a hate site, and that to me is on par with agreement. O’reilly has gotten much support from FR over the years, and this is a back stab.

Rhonda Rohrabacher has 3-year-old triplets and a work-at-home job as campaign manager to her husband, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.). She made $57,000 in the 2006 election cycle, according to a recent report by the liberal watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

That is simply converting campaign funds for personal use. In the old days it was done without the formalities and without the transparency. But as long as these clowns want to keep referring to their holding of elected offices as "public service", then it should not be allowed.
