Condolences to Eric R. Wishnie’s family and friends.

Thank you for bringing some civility to this thread. It sounds like it was most likely a suicide. Middle-aged, unemployed, recently separated from his wife (who was still employed by NBC). Very sad.

Friends described Wishnie as depressed since leaving NBC News last September — the circumstances were not clear — after 19 years there. They said he also had recently separated from his wife. “He seemed tired — very down,” said Pepi Andres, manager at the nearby Jefferson Market. “He seemed like he was out of it, I’m telling you. You can tell in the eyes.”

Yep. As much as I detest the liberal media, what it stands for and what it is trying to do to our country, I would not extend that animus to this person or his family or friends.
