Anybody watching OReily now? OReily says he'll point out and take to task any republicans going to right wing hate sites. Freerepublic was specifically mentioned.
" O-o-o-o-o, if those FReepers call me a wimp one more
time, I'm gonna have a snit, and stomp my penny loafers
r-e-a-l hard. So there. "
Your "shock" is warranted.
He didn't say, imply, suggest or insinuate what has been attributed to him.
Any objective, reasonable and impartial examination of what was said would conclude that what has been asserted is baseless and without merit.
Bill Who?
Pass the Falafel
Not even a swaying chandelier in the west SF Valley........
even the stupid cat slept thru it.
I didnt feel it either. Usual I feel ones that arent even there, like trash trucks rolling down Hollywood Way.

OReilly,
I watched your interview tonight with Lanny Davis in which you showed a vulgar photo-shopped picture from the DailyKos, of The President and Sen. Lieberman in a lewd pose. You went on to say that there was much more like it at the DailyKos and Moveon.org. I was shocked that you then allowed Mr. Davis to say, and even gave him your tacit agreement, that there were the same hateful postings on FreedomRepublic.com (sic).
The policy of Jim Robinson is posted on the FreeRepublic Main page as follows:

I saw it. The FR spokesman did a good job. I kept thinking, “Whatever happened to free speech?” Anyone can push the “report abuse” button any time they feel severely offended.
I have been offended deeply by some of the anti Mormon, anti Romney outrageously hateful statements and I reported abuse a couple of times.
I don’t think FR has anything to be ashamed of.
Great letter. I’ll send one, too.
Actually, the more I think about this, the more irate I become. I think O’Reilly should have to provide proof that he actually found those “hate speech” posts on FR. Jim Robinson should think about suing him or at the very least demand an apology. O’Reilly made us all look bad and I’m not sure I believe O’Reilly.
Since O’Really vehemently denies that he is a conservative as though that is akin to being called a klansman, I would just assume that most people watching his show take him at his word. At least, I do. I certainly hope that nobody listening to him thinks he’s promoting any agenda but his own.
What makes me nauseous is that he did not go after Kos for what they did to him this morning on his own lawn. He wimped out. Maybe he did not want to give them more publicity than they deserve, but he should have said something. I thought that Mr. Taylor from FR could have done a better job defending our site. Yes, there are trolls who post some terrible things - weed them out. We are the ones with intelligence, taste and CLASS.
Any objective, reasonable and impartial examination of what was said would conclude that what has been asserted is baseless and without merit.
O'Reilly gave Lanny Davis his tacit agreement, that there are the same hateful postings on FreedomRepublic.com (sic) as exposed from Daily KOS. This implication by comparison suggested that there are vile and vulgar Right-wing illustrations and writings on FR.
O'Reilly reinforced that impression through the rest of the segment by attempting to counter Davis' leftist whine by saying that our Republican candidates steer clear of Evil Right-wing Internet Hate sites of which the only conservative site named was FR.
My post 351 lays out what views BO promoted last night on his show. Call it what you want, but they are views shared with most conservatives and it is important that we have someone promoting these views to millions of people every night.

You should watch it sometime. O'Reilly's beef was with Kos, Lanny Davis just said "right wing hate sites", which you equated FR with.
Well, we do say some pretty awful things about her. But most of them are justified factually--she has an extraordinarily sordid record in public life. IMHO, she's an awful person and would be a terrifying president--I don't think it's unfair to say that she lusts for power and has deeply extreme and utopian views that she intends to shove down our throats if elected. Think of the American middle class as Kulaks. Or as insufficiently ideologically pure factory managers in the reign of Madame Mao.
Were she elected, the only thing preventing her from becoming another Madame Mao would, imho, be whatever checks and balances built into our system survive after a democrat congress abdicates its role in limiting her lust for power.
Maybe I'm wrong and maybe she's a moderate dem who respects opinions and viewpoints other than her own and maybe she will not govern by executive fiat like her husband did. Maybe she will not seek to remake American society in a bizarre leftist orgy of executive orders. Maybe she will not deliberately devastate American military power the way she and her husband did in the 90's. But I think the evidence points the other way.
I regard her as dangerous--the most dangerous politician in American in since Huey Long. And it isn't hateful to say that. It is an expression of love for my country. I guess what I'm saying is that if Huey Long were running for president, it wouldn't be hateful to point out that he was a dangerous, thuggish demagogue who used violence, fraud and transparent class-warfare to become the dictator of Louisiana. He was the perfect blend of organized crime and politics. Well, Huey Long is alive and well in 2008 and his name is Hillary. She wants to do for us what Huey did for Louisiana.
There is, of course, some hyperbole ("rhymes with stitch" type stuff) and posting of obviously doctored pictures (HRC with a broomstick) to make a point. But most of it is within the range of what I think is acceptable political satire. Some is in bad taste; but it's a public forum and anyone can post here. You cannot judge the entire forum by the bad taste of a few.
I'm not going to call Bill O'Reilly a liar... yet, but...
Posted on 07/31/2007 8:35:37 PM PDT by Jim RobinsonI'm not going to call Bill O'Reilly a liar... yet, but... on his TV show today, he read off a laundry list of ridiculous "hate" statements like "I hate blacks," "Hillary should be assassinated" and "homosexuals are dogs" that he said he personally found on Free Republic and claims that they were posted here today.
I do not believe that. I doubt that he personally logged on to FR and I doubt he found any such thing posted here today.
Who knows what we may have missed and is buried deep in our archives of millions of posts, but our readers do a pretty good job of alerting us to anything out of bounds that is posted and we pull it. Also, one of our readers found a couple of the quotes he alleges, and if they are the ones O'Reilly is complaining about, he took them way out of context. They were simply quotes in the articles posted not statements posted by FReepers.
As soon as he provides me a list of the alleged posts and their URLs, I'll believe him. If he doesn't... then... well, guess he'll deserve to be known as what he is.

I think this is a clumsy attempt to show historical compliance with the Fairness Doctrine. I could not believe what I was hearing.
Four fingers too many!
Well,,,I guess somebody else did see it !!...
