I was standing in a crowd once when a guy about 10 feet from me had a grand mal seizure. I’ll never forget the sound of his head hitting the ground. I wish there were a better word for it than melon-like but that was it. I was amazed too that it didn’t cut his head or cause a massive concussion or something. It was an awful sound. He did a dead fall backwards, then started clinching up and writhing. We were all standing there outside our dorm because a prankster had pulled the fire alarm and we had to evacuate. The fire trucks pulled up and parked with their lights flashing and about 15 minutes later the guy keeled over. I suspect the lights triggered the seizure.

I know the sound too. There was a other time, another co-worker, many years ago, had a stroke. we worked in a photo finishing plant (before digital). He came out of the darkroom revolving door, took two steps and did a faceplant on the tile. Huge cut on his head, he recovered months later, but I know that sound. Melon like.
