In Iowa the constitution says official business will be conducted in English. Yet the ballot is also printed in Spanish. To vote one must be a citizen; to become a citizen one must speak English.

But the uproar against the recent "compromise" legislation even made Harkin vote NO--facing re-election next year, one can't be too careful.

The only possible bright spot in this madness is that when we finally get an enforcement president (if only!) all of these databases will be useful for rounding up and deporting the criminal invaders.
