I can tell you this much. Hunter is not afraid to do the work in finding a workable solution. If you happened to catch the interview today, you know why he doesn't get much help from the GOP status quo.

Called the administration out on the carpet "about having a case of the slows" in regard to the fence. He slammed Chertoff last week when Chertoff said that building the fence was "complexed". How in the hell is it complexed? Like Hunter said, get big, and small, contractors to bid the sections, do the work, get it done! We are talking double fence, with a road for the border guards, and as he mentioned, there is over 800 million dollars appropriated for this, why has only thirteen miles been built? Notice that when he could, he got fence built in his region, and stopped a lot of crime.

He also was direct in regard to Ramos and Compean, again the current administration had to feel the heat.

You will also notice, that he recongizes America for a great power houuse of workers, if the administration would quit trying to ship everything overseas, and just have a level playing field. China does not deserve most favored nation status, they are not are buddies. He focuses on fair trade, not give away the house trade.

Hunter also possesses real world job experience, granted that it was earlier in his life, but he knows what work looks like. If you look at his over-all path through life, He gets busy working the problem, I suppose if he spent as much preening as some in the running, he might be more popular. I expect that when more people find out about him, they will be more excited about getting him into the position. Best I can do you at the time, for more, I recommend going here.

Has he ever addressed why he did not seek Speaker of the House when the GOP controlled the House? He was certainly senior enough and has a lot more charisma than Hastert.
