Prince George's and Montgomery County are investigating a possible chemical exposer and a strange substance at several above ground Green line Metro stations, Sunday afternoon.
Metro spokeswoman Cathy Asato says the Greenbelt and Takoma Park stations on the green line are closed while authorities investigate an early report of a man seen spraying some sort of chemical.
Asato says the Greenbelt station had as many as 20 dead birds outside, and the others had one to three each.
The first report came from Naylor Road just after noon Sunday. The Anacostia Stations, College Park, and Branch Avenue stations have also been closed. Fort Totten and Naylor Road are on partial closure.
It is not know at this time what kind of chemical was sprayed.
Alan Etter with the D.C. fire department says officials are looking for a person in a black pickup truck who witnesses saw spraying the substance.
Etter says a similar incident took place several years ago with rat poison, so the authorities are investigating that possibility.
Emergency crews from several jurisdictions are still on the scene.
Couldn’t have been an exterminator.

Takoma station's on the Red Line, not Green.
Good grief. That's the station I take to get to work. Hope everything is cleared up before morning.
Investigators determined the substance at the Greenbelt station was d-Con rat poison, said District of Columbia Fire and EMS spokesman Alan Etter.
So it was the Orkin man?
You mean the guy was doing it while naked?
Good thing you aren't a bird. Although, this being the Internet you might be a bird and who would know.
