Agree with observation on how Powell survived, by betrayal. On the other hand poor Condolezza has been piloried and portrayed as the worst type of sterotypical trash and the DBM just acts like she asked for it and deserves it. (Please Just God, hurry up and send forth some thunder bolts).
Blunt and Hatch appearances today don’t support the snide connotation of Chris Wallace’s remark about not getting anyone on his show to support Gonzales. Looks like the Fox production team didn’t try hard enough.

>>How do they get on the bus then??<<
They will continue to ignore good news. They will always have a “yeah, but...” and then focus on another potential black eye for the GOP.
Amen!
Did any of these Congressional idiots ever bother to look at a map? See that country called Iran these nations border?
Yeah, LET’s not do a smart deal that keeps these nations dependent on American made weapons and military supplies. Let not do a deal that rewards them for their intelligence and political support against the Terrorists. Let not do a deal that keeps our Defense contractors at work and drives up our exports.
No lets drive these nations into the arms of the Chinese or the Russians or the French, (or worse a neutrality pack with Iran)just because a bunch of American political trash, along with their Leftist slaves in the US Junk Media, hate the current President.
ABC News has the video of the Hatch/Schumer “debate” on Gonzales this morning and it is well worth the watch.
As info Stephy allowed Schumer to bloviate for 3:30 at the start before giving Hatch the mike. Hatch was allowed to speak for a total of 25 seconds before being interrupted by Stephy. Give it a look. Hatch was very, very impressive though he was given the short shrift by ABC.
To Stephy’s credit Hatch did get in the last words but ONLY because of commercial considerations I’m sure.
Agreed he was awesome.
Yep I caught that MNJ and all I could think of was how weak Shay is and how Rangle and Sharpton must have been separated at birth.
BTW has anyone ever seen Rangle and Sharpton in the same room together? Just asking.
Aside from that we have done a horrible job here of convincing Americans that it's in the nations interest to drill for oil every where, dig for coal build nukes, etc. etc.. So we are now more dependent on the Saudis than ever that they keep on pumpin'.
And creates American jobs and lowers unit costs for the US military.

The Saudis PAY for everything including all of the costs of the people to train them and provide the logistical support. We have been selling the Saudis arms for over 40 years, including giving them AWACS.
Selling arms is a very competitive business. The UK, French, Russians, and Chinese will sell the Saudis whatever they want. The Chinese already sold them IRBMs in the mid-80s. If they buy our weapons, it gives us some leverage on how they will be used. If Congress kills this deal, it will be cutting our nose off to spite our face. It will be interesting to learn what AIPAC's position is on the sale. More than likely, that will be the position of Congress.
Oil is a global commodity. Saudi Arabia is the world's largest exporter of oil and has the largest proven reserves by far. As long as the world is dependent on oil and demand continues to increase, the Saudis will continue to pump out their 8 to 10 million bbls a day, something they can do for the next 200 years. We are competing with the Chinese and others to lock up long term contracts with the Saudis and others. The Saudis are the third largest supplier of oil to us after Canada and Mexico. Venezuela is a close fourth.
Thanks.
When we complain about the lack of hardhitting Republicans on these shows we have to remember how the formats and the hosts are so hostile to them. I bet Hatch’s strong defense of the AG surprised Steffi. It was great how Hatch would not stop talking at the end. I’m sure he was not meant to have the last word.
It depends. Those congressional districts that have a large defense industry presence will support the sale, regardless of party. If the bill is defeated it will be by a large margin, including reps of both parties. It is no accident that the bill also includes a large increase in arms assistance for Israel.
Puts Murtha in a real bind. :)
That was the best part. Stef and Chuck kept trying to interrupt and Hatch just kept talking. He knew the segment must be drawing to a close and he absolutely refused to allow Chuck to have the last work. It is a great video to watch.
I went and watched it again. You always pick up items you may have missed on the first watch.
