WASHINGTON Leading a bipartisan delegation of 10 colleagues to Greenland, Sen. Barbara Boxer said today she saw first-hand the effects of global warming and received a plea from the country's officials to do something to change it.
"I think everyone who has seen this is changed,'' Boxer, D-Calif., said in a telephone interview from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. "Imagine flying in a helicopter and seeing this massive glacier that's five miles wide and 500 miles long...following it as it's crashing into the sea.'' The glacier they flew over is the fastest moving one in the world, she said.
Boxer said she decided to organize this weekend trip to Greenland so she and other senators could better understand the information they have received from sources such as scientists, reports and former Vice President Al Gore's movie.

Babs is just getting a taste of the very warm conditions she’ll find in hell.
Gee, Barbara, I thought they did that naturally. I would think it would be a worse situation if this didn’t happen; like glacier piled on top of glacier on top of glacier.
Well, you get the picture.
That is more interesting. Do you have a link? Thanks
Uh... hey Babs, was that a hybrid helicopter?
Boxer is the Jewish version of Sheila Jackson Lee.
Glacier: A huge mass of ice slowly flowing over a land mass, formed from compacted snow in an area where snow accumulation exceeds melting and sublimation.Maybe then she would have been informed and not made such stupid comments.
That’s the second group from Congress making the pilgrimage to Greenland to worship in the Church of Global Warming. Nancy Pelosi lead some House members earlier this year. Besides wasting taxpayers money just to look at some glaciers, this also shows these members of Congress to be ignorant of history. About 1,000 years ago, the Vikings had FARMING settlements on Greenland that lasted several centuries until global COOLING forced them to be abandoned. The place wasn’t named green land because the Vikings were color blind.
How many helicopters and airplanes were involved on this trip?
How much CFC were released to transport them all from Washington DC to Greenland and back (including the helicopter rides and ground transportation)?
Where less environmentally damaging ways of gathering information available (i.e. satellites, ships, etc)
How much did this trip cost?
