I left in July 1968 after serving a year in Danang, We were still building up our forces, especially after Tet.

Tet '68 had a big impact on training and rotation back in CONUS. Training courses weren't cut short but leave was. Troops were usually encouraged to take leave and keep it under 60 days on the books. I had nearly 90 at SEPROS.

The Navy sent us out for long time.....but every once in while tossed us a little officially unofficial R&R.....trips for a couple days to Okinawa or the P.I. for briefings or a benny flight to Thailand for less than a day.
