You have a point there, William. He might have some more damaging stuff there in those old letters. HRC wouldn’t want to risk it. Remenber Vince Foster?

By 1969 HILLARY was actively supporting Communist North Vietnam’s push to take over a then Free South Vietnam. Resulting in for the formerly Free People there:

What’s now in store for a still Free USA, I wonder, in this new time of war with our own Freedom now directly at stake right here at home..?

Since Xmas vacation, Ive gone through three and a half metamorphoses and am beginning to feel as though there is a smorgasbord of personalities spread before me, Ms. Rodham wrote to Mr. Peavoy in April 1967. So far, Ive used alienated academic, involved pseudo-hippie, educational and social reformer and one-half of withdrawn simplicity. This kind of writing well above her pay grade is so forced and stilted - the kind of writing an English teacher might like coming from a 17 year old but always impressed me as how eager Type A personalities try too hard to communicate with one another.
A real drag, man.

I dislike Hillary as much as anyone but, to be fair, these sound like the ramblings of a typical young articulate college student of the 60s. Yes, it’s self-indulgent and some of it makes you want to slap the writer upside the head but isn’t that typical of many 19 year olds?
As for her musings as a child that there were heavenly cameras focused on her, etc. those seem to me typical childhood fantasies and delusions and not a sign of mental illness or narcissism, as some here have said. If we can remember back that far, I think we can all remember having thoughts like that as a child. Maybe not those specific thoughts but similar fanciful, grandiose fantasies. There are many reasons to dislike Hillary as a politican and as an adult but I don’t think these youthful letters need be used to support that dislike.

Can you be a misanthrope and still love or enjoy some individuals? Ms. Rodham wrote in an April 1967 letter. How about a compassionate misanthrope?
From there, she deems the process of self-definition to be too depressing and asserts that the easiest way out is to stop any thought approaching introspection and to advise others whenever possible.
Why would the NY Times run a Hillary hit piece, and then not call it destructive?
It must really suck to be a Times reading liberal. Here you are, reading from your bible and one part of your brain is saying...man, Hillary sounds wacky...but then The Times tells you it's not so you continue to distrust your instincts.

God, what a pretentious sot.
Pretentious? The woman is saying to others that she's developed a hatred of mankind and that the way to deal with it is stop thinking about it and to control others behavior; which is her political philosophy.
How about physcopathic?
I wonder which or how many personality disorders she has. She's definitely narraccistic.

While guilty as anyone of self indulgence, I never was telling others or knew of anyone who spoke of hatred for all people and wanting to control their behavior.

Did anyone hear Carl Bernstein on the David Gold show yesterday on KSFO? The famed employee of the W-P went nuts. Totally bonkers.
Though Mr. Gold stated several times that Mr. Bernstein's book was balanced, includes both the good and the bad, Bernstein reacted totally irrational when Gold brought up the bad or in any way criticized Mrs. Clinton.
"You say in your book that Hillary has problems with the truth.." Gold started to ask. "GIVE ME THE NAME OF ONE REPUBLICAN WHO DOESN'T LIE!" demanded Bernstein. "You can't do it, go ahead, name one. Name one! Name one! NAME ONE!"
You right-wingers this and you right-wingers that, roared Bernstein, on and on for several minutes at a time. Even when he told Gold that he could not stay through another break he roared on for several minutes finally being dumped when the four letter words started flying.
And those long-winded rants interrupted only by labored breathing, terrible sound.
Ah, life outside the liberal, elite bubble. It just ain't fair is it, Mr. Bernstein?

If only Shrillery had stayed in her "withdrawn simplicity" mode, or even the "alienated academic" -- surely she would not have made the ambition-driven opportunistic decision to marry the Stainmaster for their joint political future, and the country could have been spared so much!!

I’ve met Bernstein a couple of times and spoken to him a few more. He is a pompous, arrogant communist...and proud of it.

Doug - could the two references to "a Dartmouth boy" be about the blind date that Peter Paul referenced in the conversation that Hillary claims not to remember? I very much doubt that she dated much or went up to Hanover, NH more than once, given the mousy nerd that she was.....
"She would issue a blanket condemnation of the boys she had met (who know a lot about self and nothing about man ) and also tell of an encounter she had with a Dartmouth boy the previous weekend.....
....Her letters contain no mention of any romantic interest, except for one from February 1967 in which Ms. Rodham divulges that she met a boy from Dartmouth and spent a Saturday night in Hanover.

I will be showing some video soon of Peter and Hillary discussing the Darmouth Winter Carnival. Her date got drunk and ditched her. He road his surfboard down the hill. In her declaration of April 7, 2006, Hillary claims that she could remember nothing of what was discussed at Spago. Peter’s home videos are not going to let her get away with it this time.

not yet reconciled myself to the fate of not being the star.At the risk of stating the obvious, it's pretty clear that she still hasn't. Apparently back then she had the idea that she OUGHT to try to stop striving to be the star, and maybe she tried to stop, but she failed miserably in that personal battle.

Just left a message for the author. I have some really good follow-up info for him.
