There were far more alcohol-related deaths (and the violence associated with it) during Prohibition. And we all know what happens when guns are banned. (See Philadelphia).

Give me a break.

However, (re-)legalizing alcohol put an end to one of the most profitable arms of organized crime. How many gangland style massacres have there been over alcohol since the end of prohibition?

Sure, people abuse alcohol, but far more use it responsibly. The key is that keeping prostitution illegal actually makes things worse for the women involved. Simply put, they're often forced to turn to those scumbag pimps for protection, since the police will not help protect them. Pimps don't like anyone abusing their women except for themselves.
