Personally, I don’t think we should reject an idea outright. IIRC, it’s only recently that Einstein’s theory was actually “proven”. Look back on relatively (no pun intended) history, no one in the 18th or even 19th Century could really have imagined the technological advances that have come to pass.

I'm not saying time travel will ever happen, but these types of experiments are valuable, regardless.

However, Prof Mallett is fussy about who gives him the money. "We want non-military sources. I don't want to get to a certain point and get 'top secret' slapped over the project and have it taken away from us."

What a dummy.

If he did build it, the government would seize it anyway!

Sounds just a little too much like the John Titor stories.

“The Vulcan Science Directorate states that time travel is impossible.”

So why work so hard on it if at all? When he invents it in the future he can simply travel back in time and present it to himself and avoid all that hard work.

Yes, just imagine if that traveling snake oil salesman had not approached the mother of the evil incarnate, if William Jefferson Blythe Clinton had never been conceived.

Our world would be much better now than it is.

Hate to break the news to him, but if he manages to pull it off, that’s gonna happen anyway. (I’d still like to know what happened to all of Tesla’s papers that were confiscated on orders of J. Edgar Hoover).

You may want to get out your Ping List for this thread. George Noory said on Coast to Coast last night that he was going to try and get Dr. Mallett on the show soon.

185 post to the thread some of them might want to tune in.

Just in case you wondered at the time I get up to go to work it is either Coast to Coast or the Midnight Trucking Radio Network on the radio, most of the time I find Coast to Coast a little more entertaining.

I’d be more interested in betting superfectas of the past.

If you were to walk into this 'timetunnel' - which would resemble a large vortex of light a few feet across - you could emerge at some point in the past.

Already been done(in 1966).

If you turned on the machine, on January 1 say, and left it running for three months, you could enter the machine in March and only travel back as far as January 1.

If it was going to work at all, you would start to see people from the future walking out of the vortex almost as soon as you started it up.
