St. John’s is a very old school, (my father in law graduated from St. John’s in 1928 before adoption of “The Great Books program”).

It’s based in Anapolis, MD, with a campus in New Mexico, both of which made this list. It has a unique program, the aforementioned “Great Books” program, studying the classics in the original. You have to do their entire four year program, from start to finish .. no transfers, no credits from other colleges.

It’s perfect for some kids; wouldn’t work for others. When one of my kids was looking into the school because of the program, other parents put out suggestions that its students were really ODD. If your nieces is ok with that, and her parents are willing to pay its steep tuition, she will get a fantastic education.

Its website is www.stjohnscollege.edu. Worth looking at if for no other reason than it is so unique.

Thanks....I already looked at the site....interesting about the “odd” component.....and I think, luckily, it’ll be too expensive for her parents!
