Nifong Taken Down By A Savage Nation
Americanchronicle.com ^ | 7-26-07 | Andrew T. Durham

Anyway, the only voice on talk radio that is not a drone is Michael Savage. And he alone championed the case of the Duke Lacrosse players from the very beginning. I remember the day very well. As usual, Savage predicted what would happen, just like the immigration atrocity that almost happened….just like the Dubai Ports thing. Why is it this guy seems to be the only one who gives a damn about something OTHER than partisan politics?

That’s the way I remembered it. I’m familiar with who he is but didn’t remember his name or anything he ever said about the case coming up. By the time Cooper made his announcement it was beyond ridiculous to keep hanging on to any belief that Fonger had a case. So a lot of people started stepping into the light. There were a few holdouts like Nancy, Georgia & Wendy. But that was no surprise.

The “he alone” thing was just too much. LOL.

Alright.

I never heard of this writer before, so I don’t know what his motivation was for penning this article.

Anyone who worked to get Nifong busted for his dirty shenanigans deserves credit.

That is absolutely correct. There were a lot of fine Freepers who actually did much of the work for the incompetent lazy local press. The cable news people and a few talk show people kept it national, and a few web bloggers did some outstanding work as well. You would not believe the extremes that some here on FreeRepublic went through in order to expose the fraudulent Nifong.

And had it not been for those people who knows what might have happened. The constant exposure & pressure keeping this story & the evidence (or lack of it) up front & center helped these boys tremendously. The MSM whipped itself into a frenzy embellishing the facts & inventing evidence. “Rape jackets” & condoms, anyone?

Fong demonstrated the “chokehold” on Abrams show. The look on his face. LOL.

I knew from Day One that the dancer/hooker was lying.

The day that Melanie Sill (Editor, Raleigh News & Observer) wondered why the continued national interest in the story is when I realized we had succeeded in raising the awareness level to the point of no return.

The suggestions by other Freepers that I drive down to personally confirm the dancer was still dancing was just a bit too much, however. ;-)

You would not believe the amount of dirt that has still been swept under the rugs of North Carolina politics and law enforcement.

What ever happened to the “Pot Bangers” and the members of that local black church who were calling for the Duke players to be castrated? Lots of silence in Durham right now!!

To compare Savage to a hot dog is insulting to hot dogs.

Heck, I’d rather listen to NPR than Savage’s drivel!

That says more about you than it does Savage.

I know Savage supports our railroaded border agents and you don't get that on NPR!

All the Savage hate seems to come from his support of liberal Jerry Brown for CA. AG.

Sorta like me supporting social liberal Rudy Giuliani for mayor of New York, but I'd never support him for President.

Savage hammers liberals every single day and he's one of the good guys as far as I'm concerned.

This is not true. Dennis Prager, on his radio show, also stated from the very, very beginning of this case that something was “rotten in Denmark.” He also championed this cause and never faltered.

I like to give credit where credit is due.

Michael Savage’s name never came up once on the threads to my recollection. If it did, it came up as an aside. I don’t listen to him after one or two of his rants made me doubt his sanity. I’m conservative, to be sure, but he has “jumped the shark” one too many times for me.

I credit the hard work of many on this forum and the prayers of the faithful with the boys freedom today, but most of all, I credit his parents’ bank accounts and the hard work of their defense attorneys, especially the one who cracked the DNA report and the other who gave his last hours on earth to their defense.

That should have read, “I credit the boys’ parents’ bank accounts.” I didn’t mean to imply that Michael Savage contributed to the defense fund.

One thing is for certain, Savage understands what is at stake in the culture War on Islamic Fundamentalism and the physical War on Islamic Terrorism.

He is also tough on liberal Democrats in Washington.

I understand that Savage-haters think he is not really a conservative and that he is it only for the money and his program and books is only a scheme to get conservative's money.

Even if he is scamming conservatives and is really a liberal-in-disguies, his daily commentary is conservative and that is what this country needs against the liberal bias in broadcast news and paper news.

Isn't David Horowitz another Berkley lib turned conservative?

Oh, admit it. You just couldn’t get away without making your spouse suspicious. ;-) I thought it WAS you, because somebody on the threads did.
