Much better. Or how about: "I'm sorry I lied to the court. I'm sorry I withheld vital exculpatory evidence. I'm sorry I tried to railroad these young men and send them to prison in order to further my career."
As far as I can see, Mr. Nifong hasn't yet come close to an apology, and I can't see why anyone "accepts" his weaseling.
