I suggest reading the whole thing for a clearer view (it is a good read in both Constitutional and Legal studies).. It may sound like BS, but what Thompson was doing was trying to be as pure to the Constitution as possible.. remember, this isn’t a vote on guilt, he was already found guilty, this was a vote on the punishment..

I think others are frustrated because this has been posted hundreds of times and there have been some people who have tried to bait folks with false articles or misleading info (which you didn’t, but people are defensive..)

I guess I just don't understand people who wrap themselves so tightly around any political candidate -- and especially one who hasn't even committed to running. It's confusing to say the least. I guess some people fel the need to attach themselves to politicians to make up for some hole in their personal lives. I should clarify I am not dead set against Mr. Thompson. I feel he did a lot to expose Chinagate. I would just like to hear him personally explain certain actions and beliefs in an adversarial situation such as a debate to get a better feel for him. I guess I just take the voting proces too seriously.

Thanks again for responding.
