I am not trying to spin. I am not aware of Spencer’s record as a Senator.

I don’t trust the author. She makes stuff up and then refuses to correct herself.

For instance the flap about Julie Myers and the pin she was wearing. Deb was so wrong, but never admitted it.

This is not the only raising of eyebrows concerning Fred.

I would think much of what a senator has done, at least with legislation, is public and can be confirmed.

I wouldn’t outright dismiss any of these claims, given both men involved.

Sometimes she corrects herself

I've removed this entry, mostly because I am spending too much time monitoring the slimy comments from the Nazi-infested Media Matters for America cretins.

For a woman as educated and brilliant as Debbie Schlussel, I’ve noted her mistakes tend to be quite large. I remember writing to her on her website on one such matter. The specifics escape me but I was disappointed as I recall it was inaccurate and worse in its misdirection.

I’m not a fan of Spencer Abraham but as for Christians in the Mid-East, including the Lebanese and Copts, I’m behind them all the way.

“I don’t trust the author. She makes stuff up and then refuses to correct herself.”

Debbie is usually right about most of what she says, and she backs it up with facts and statistics. I would trust what she says far more than what Spencer Abraham says, as I’ve tracked him myself over the years, and he is exactly what Debbie is saying about him. You can put the blinders on if you want, in order to maintain your Fredhead status, but facts are facts, dispute what Debbie has said point by point please. You won’t get far, I can assure you.

I was sceptical of Fred Thompson from the beginning, as no one knows where he really stands on policies. He’s folksy, a big guy, charming, an actor and polished, a lawyer (which in my book is not a good background for political office; that’s what Clinton was) and therefore can easily sway the politically naive. I do know Fred is cut too much in the Bush vein, and has been picking up Bush backers to his campaign. I know he has globalist propensities, is a free trader who favors trade agreements that aren’t necessarily in our country’s best interests, doesn’t have much of a track record in Congress, other than lawyer related stuff, has had positions similar to Bush on illegal immigration and guest worker programs (although he has verbally been trying to appear like he is against this of late, however I don’t trust him).

Beware, fellow Freepers. Too many jumped on the Bush bandwagon and look what it got us. Go slow, let Fred get into the ring and compete in the world of ideas (if he ever gets to the point of finally announcing his candidacy), and then make your choices. Plus, frankly, it gauls me that he takes a pass while all the other Pub candidates are in the thick of it, debating, doing all the legwork required of their campaigns, mixing with the people, and Fred just sits on the sidelines letting them all take the punches while he hovers in the background. Then he swoops in, expecting to shove all those who have been working hard on campaigning aside. Just doesn’t set well with me.

Now, maybe Fred will prove to me other than what’s been nagging my brainwaves about him of late. But that remains to be seen, and proven. Get in the fray, Fred. The time has come to let us know what you really think. Choosing Spencer Abraham is a pretty big mistake to make right off the bat, especially in choosing him as your campaign manager, a highly visible position on the campaign trail. And, if you win, do you end up giving him a cabinet post as a reward? I don’t know. I’m not happy with Fred as savior here. I’ve got a gut instinct (as I did with Bush Jr.) that all is not what it appears to be.
