The Wizard reminds the "brainy" Scarecrow about the universality of brains and then presents him with a rolled up parchment/diploma:

Why, anybody can have a brain. That's a very mediocre commodity. Every pusillanimous creature that crawls on the Earth or slinks through slimy seas has a brain. Back where I come from, we have universities, seats of great learning, where men go to become great thinkers. And when they come out, they think deep thoughts and with no more brains than you have! But they have one thing you haven't got - a diploma. Therefore, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Universitatus Committeatum E Pluribus Unum, I hereby confer upon you the honorary degree of Th. D...that's Doctor of Thinkology.

Scarecrow replies "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side… Oh joy! Rapture! I’ve got a brain.

Do you think we should get rid of the medical profession and let God do all the healing?

Do you think that our God can't use the medical profession to accomplish His will? By "left alone" I meant by those who would take a life because it is "not a viable life".

From the researchers notes . . .

“When the subject was asked if he had any concept of politics, he replied “{gurgle} Eh? {burp}”. He was then asked if he had a political party, he stated “{pfffrrt} Democrat {bbblllaaaaaaaaarrrppp}”. He was also identified as a war correspondant for CNN.”

When will researchers stop stating the obvious?

We have a dear friend, a Downs woman (I want to call her a child but she IS almost 22) and they said she’d never smile or talk or do much of anything. She is THE most amazing person. She loves the Lord, she prays for people, she’s always telling us she loves us, she dances and sings, does the dishes at home, cleans the kitchen every night, folds clothes for her nieces and nephews (whether they’re clean or not—smile). I hate it when doctors are so negative about these precious ones. God has a purpose for their lives, if only to bring unconditional love to us. Praise God for your little one.

Thank you. I"ve always maintained that Down's children are special gifts to everyone around them. I once pastored a church where we had a Down Syndrome man in the congregation. I called him the "angel" of the church. His spirit was filled with such joy. He loved to sing and there was aother man who would bring his guitar and he would get up and sing, and then he would say I'm going to sing Amazing Grace, Jeff would you come and help me? And Jeff would say, "I'll help you." And he would get up and sing so loud the rafters would ring. Such a sweet soul. I miss him.

God bless your dear friend. She brings light into the world.

Blessings, Nan

Yes, she does. She’s just so much fun to be with. I wish they hadn’t moved so far away. She makes me feel so loved, you know?
