Because everything I have seen makes it look like practicing sorcery and casting spells can be good and fun.

Being a Jedi looks pretty cool, and Luke Skywalker is a heroic, happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Did you notice a lot of kids building lightsabers in the late '70s?

Did you notice a lot of kids building lightsabers in the late '70s?

I tried, but gave up after nearly electrocuting myself.

A group of elementary school friends and I tried to build the milennium falcon out of an old Igloo cooler and a big fan that my parents had. Considering that there was no air in space, it would have taken us forever to get to Alderaan.

Oh yeah. Jedi lesson one, red cardboard tube light saber stands up to blue broom stick light saber not.

Lesson two, broom stick light saber hurts like a SOB, oops, I mean a wookie... May the farce be with you...
