If he did, he'd lose half the Republican liberal vote.
Facts are not consistent with Reality.
Even more so with Lincolnites. But again, I do like Newt, the man's a genius. But he does have his issues and character flaws.
But then again, who among us doesn't? I just simply wish we could find someone electable that was against the nanny-state and federal leviathan that we have today.
be with the starving pygmies down there in New Guinea...
Sancho Panza had some criticism over Don Quihote on this very point.
Newt has waaaay too high an opinion of himself. No way in hell he could win.
That was good.

Anyone who is against nanny-state is, by the definition and the standards set by al-Media, "unelectable". Many on FR stated that media destroyed Newt's image and will do their worst to destroy his candidacy because they despise him and therefore make him "unelectable"... I say, give this man a medal (Purple Heart, Freedom, Valor...) and send him out to articulate correctly and eloquently the ideas which will be based on facts and leave media and liberals angry, deranged and helpless in futility to refute them.
He knows and understands the audience. The way he turned the global warming "debate" with John Kerry from long and futile discussion (in front of young brainwashed audience) about science or causes ("man-made" or not) or consequences of global warming into a discussion of what can be done "for the environment" and energy independence using cheap and market-based solutions while removing heavy-handedness and incompetence and the expense (to the audience as well) of government-based regulations and taxes was pure genius. I expect this approach would also work very well in general elections on people who are looking for "solutions" to their "problems" (real or perceived due to media barrage), not stale cookie-cutter slogans. That was how Perot seduced a large portion of population into voting for him, never mind that his "solutions" were phony.
