MCMINNVILLE, Ore., July 22 (UPI) -- Two 13-year-old Oregon boys are facing serious sex charges for allegedly slapping female classmates' bottoms as a form of horseplay.
Police arrested Cory Mashburn and Ryan Cornelison of McMinnville and if convicted could be permanently marked as sex offenders, The Portland Oregonian said Sunday. The teens also could spend as long as 10 years in juvenile detention if found guilty.
While the boys' parents have opposed such a harsh penalty, McMinnville District Aattorney Bradley Berry said such youthful acts could have longstanding consequences for the alleged victims.
"These cases are devastating to children," he said. "They are life-altering cases."
Interviews with the boys' fellow students found other teens were engaging in similar behavior at the time and two of the female victims have since recanted their statements.
The Oregonian said the boys are due in court on Aug. 20 to answer to all charges stemming from the February event.
Yeah, why can’t I ever be called for jury duty on a case like this where I could stand up as jury foreman and say “we find the defendant not guilty, and we also find the DA and you the judge, for not dismissing this immediately, complete morons for having wasted our time.”

10 years for horseplay? Meanwhile, child rapists/abusers often get far less harsh sentences. The kids should've got sent the principal and a few whacks on their posteriors. ...and that's all.

I supposed it depends on the slapper and the slappee. If you slap a strippers fanny, no big deal. If you were to slap my wife's or daughter's fanny, I promise that much assaulting would result.
I certainly wouldn't want you or these boys to be labeled sex offenders, though.

On the radio show they stated it was the boys and girls doing this to each other. Evidently it was one of those things kids were doing. These two were not the only ones doing it.
It’s totally odd. In one way, they are totally sexualizing children. Masturbation, condoms, homosexuality taught at a young age. But butt slaps by two boys (the girls were doing it as well but that’s okay) is a crime.
Lot more here than “just horseplay”
My wife has had one of these “young men” in her classroom...

Like everything else in life that happens to too many modern women. “Life altering.”
Given this type of feminist overreach, it’s really not so amazing that women don’t do quite as well in the workplace, what’s really amazing is that anyone in the workplace would take the risk of hiring a woman who might, at any time for any reason, decide to accuse random male employees of conduct that is, to her, “life altering.”
These young girls didn’t knowingly bring this on the boys — in fact, it looks like some of them may even have changed their stories now — but feminists have decided to destroy these young male lives just to make some ideological point. Dare I say that those feminists need a good spanking?
This is insane. For the record, I don’t think it’s “OK” that these kids slapped a female’s behind, however, it’s also not a “sex crime.”
It’s kids screwing around as kids do. Unless they did or said something that’s not being indicated here, this is ridiculous.

Does this mean I can be given some sort of runeration by the Tit of Big Gov, because my Grade school principal ( tears pouring from my eyes, a MALE principal) gave me a swat with a paddle on the Butt. We were playing chase and ran across some ice.Teacher Witch snitched on us.
Geez...what did I do as a teen:
-smacked a couple butts (girls)
-told a few dirty jokes
-kissed a 19 year old girl when I was 16
-told a girl she looked “hot”
By these standards today I’d be labeled a sex offender. It’s nuts.

If you’re going to come out with that post, you need to provide more information. What are you saying—they videotaped themsevles slapping girls bottoms? Your post is cryptic.
