That’s your opinion. Besides, my comment was that, if Israel is attacked by missiles, the US will step in and try to stop Israel from responding in kind. We’ve done that as recently as last year, and there is little evidence to suggest that we’d respond differently now.

The situation in Lebanon was far different from what would be the case if Syria attacked Israel directly. When an actual country attacks you, you can attack back.
