Just thinking about this:

$5,000,000,000 ( 5 billion) divided by 5000 jobs =
$1,000,000 per job.

Suppose, instead, we give,say, $500,000 to each person to help them start a small business of their own. Thoughts?

I actually thought the exact same thing. We could cut the price of this "jobs program" in half by just GIVING every proposed beneficiary $500,000 bucks each. Madness!!
