Always makes me laugh when they so obviously know their subject....Kristinn, SHE....! LOLOL!
I hate to tell you guys this but if you're a certain age and from certain parts of the country, Kristinn was always a woman's name.
Like a lot of other names, I'm sure there are lots of boys and young men named Kristinn now. And it's a nice variation of Chris or Christopher.
Not to ruin anyone's fun but for some of us, it's a natural error. But a newspaper or pro website is expected to verify fundamental facts like this.
Life was simpler back in the Fifties or Sixties when 50% of all male infants was automatically named Jim, Tom or Bob. It was the law! LOL.

In my case it's a Scandanavian man's name that's been in my family since they came to this country generations ago.
Here it's kinda like A Boy Named Sue.
