Turning to adoption to fight abortion

In the days before Texas had nearly 19,000 abused, abandoned and neglected children on its foster care rolls, the church often helped take care of orphans.

Now, some conservative Christians say an intense focus on hot-button issues like abortion and gay marriage has come at the expense of caring for needy children. And they're doing something about it.

Dallas-area families are leading by example – by taking in children from around the world. Parents and pastors are starting ministries. A national coalition that includes Focus on the Family aims to persuade thousands of churches to start adoption ministries. And the state of Texas is spending $500,000 this year to encourage churchgoers to adopt and care for foster children.

The push, still in its infancy, could help recast the image of conservative Christians, broaden the appeal of the church and, consequently, find homes for children.

"For the past 80 years, the church has really abrogated its responsibility to government, adoption agencies and others," said Christopher Padbury, executive director of Project 1.27, a Colorado-based group that has placed 60 foster children for adoption in Christian homes since 2005. "God has really taken a sledgehammer and started pounding on his churches."

Christians have ALWAYS been willing to help find homes for unwanted children, the problem is that the abortuaries are murdering over 3500 per day.

Until the gay movement shuts down church adoption agencies who refuse to place little ones with homosexuals - as is happening to the Catholic church now in Massachusetts

This is something we are talking about, if we can’t have kids.

The problem is that there isn’t as many options for adopting US kids. The legal pitfalls are so great, many are looking overseas.

The reason that so many are having to go overseas to adopt is that, for all intents and purposes, there aren’t any “unwanted” babies in the United States because of the abortuaries.

My wife and I are the victims of a stae / county adoption.

We were lied to every step of the way.

Before you even consider going through a county/ state progra,m let me warn you aof the tremendous expense. I am not just speaking about monetary, I am talking about emotional.

They will lie to you and not think twice about it.

Ask your self if this is something you really want to do before you make any kind of serious committment.

I strongly suggest that you do foster care first. this way you will get a small taste of how you will be lied to.

and the moszt important thing I can tell you is if you set an upper limit to ages do not let anyone tell you that you should consider raising that limit.

I have heard that also. If/when we reach that point, we would be going through either Catholic or Lutheran family services.

But still, it is a hard road. Some friends of my family adopted two little twins, and when through a nightmare even with the help of the churches.

or avoid the lies and adopt from overseas. I know a family who felt led to do just that, and they will be coming home this weekend with 3 new children, all siblings. When I talked to the wife, she said that it will be 4 months to the date of them sending out the paperwork, to their returning home with their new children!
